Bentota and its breathtaking sandy beach pretty much transforms your dreams and visions of a tropical paradise into an everyday reality. Located close to the Southern tip of the Island of Sri Lanka and only about 200 km from the Equator, this secluded crescent shaped beach is the perfect place to sit back, relax and forget about all the hustle and bustle of your other life that’s a million miles away. This small sandy tropical beach boasts some of Sri Lanka’s best and most stunning sunsets and sunrises Overnight in Bentota , Kalutara or Beruwala.

Day 2 Bentota

After breakfasttoday day is at Leisure. Enjoy Sun, Sea and Sand or proceed to visit Kosgoda turtle farm& Madu river boat ride. Kosgoda is famous for its sea turtle conservation project operated by the Wild Life Protection Society of Sri Lanka. It was established in 1988 to protect Sri Lanka’s turtles from extinction. Since then it has released about 3.5 million baby turtles into the wild. The hatchery pays fishermen for eggs that they collect at night along the long sandy beach. Although October to April is the main laying season, some eggs (mostly green turtles) can be found at Kosgoda throughout the year. The hatchery buries the eggs in sand, and when they hatch around 50 days later the baby turtles are released into the sea at night. Only about one in 1,000 turtles survive to maturity. Kosgodaturtle hatchery also has tanks for injured or disabled turtles, including albino turtles that would not survive in the wild. Madu River Safari – Balapitya- Madu River, known in ancient text as Weliganga (Sandy River) is located in the coastal town of Balapitiya and is considered the last remaining tract of pristine mangrove forest in Sri Lanka after Bentota. A virgin habitat constituting a coastal wetland mangrove ecosystem and the fact that it's bio-locked, meaning that it's protected from outside influence to its native aquatic plant & animals. It has a high ecological and biological significance, also on record for being home to over 300 plant species from 95 families and 250 plus vertebrate families. The main reason for the existence of Madu River is the tides of the area.Bentota is the water-sports capital of Sri Lanka One of the advantages of being an island is that you have water all around you and sandy beaches to match, where one can enjoy Jet Ski riding, boogie boarding in Bentota.Overnight in Bentota , Kalutara or Beruwala.

Day 3 Bentota

After breakfasttoday day is at Leisure. Enjoy Sun, Sea and Sand.Overnight in Bentota.

Day 4 Hikkaduwa

After breakfast at hotel proceed to Hikkaduwa. The beach of Hikkaduwa is situated 102 km from Colombo towards the south of Sri Lanka. This fun coastal town, 14 km away from Galle was the first (1960’s) of Sri Lanka’s beautiful beaches to be discovered by tourists. Snorkeling and diving in the clear waters are a major past-time along this stretch and is the most environmentally friendly way to see the colorful fish that dart around. The coral sanctuary found along the coast of Hikkaduwa is a large shallow body of water enclosed by a reef, decorated with layers of multi colored corals, and is home to countless numbers of vibrantly colored fish. Off the beach there is a collection of small islets surrounded by beautiful coral formations. Many species of fish and large turtles are found here. Overnight in Hikkaduwa.

Day 5 Hikkaduwa

After breakfasttoday day is at Leisure Enjoy Sun, Sea and Sand or visit City of Galle - Today’s town has grown greatly and spreads into the surroundings but the Fort is the slow beating heart of Galle‘s history. The walled city has stood since the early sixteenth century, through the Colonial periods of the Portuguese, Dutch and British and in our present times is proclaimed as an Archaeological Reserve and has been identified as a living World Heritage Site. The etymology of the name Galle is explained as probably an altered form of the Sinhalese word “gala”: a cattle fold or posting-place from which the Portuguese named it Point-de-Galle. The simpler and more popular theory is found in the similarity of the Sinhalese word: gala, for rock, which the Portuguese duplicated by adopting the Latin word: Gallus, for rooster. They thus designed the coat-of-arms of the city as that of a rooster standing upon a rocky perch. Surfing - Hikkaduwa is Sri Lanka's surf center from November to April, & has hosted numerous international competitions. It is particularly good for beginners as the waves are comparatively gentle, most breaking on the reefs rather than the beach. The focus is around the main break, known as the "A-Frame" Scuba diving - Hikkaduwa is a good base for scuba diving. Local operators run trips to up to 20 sites along the coast. Most rewarding sites close to Hikkaduwa are the rock formations, especially the deep Kirala Gala (21 m to 38m), 10 minutes offshore, where there is also a wide range of pristine coral with groupers, barracuda & batfish. A number of wrecks, some in fairly shallow water, can also be visited, such as the Earl of Shaftesbury. Snorkeling, Coral Gardens & Wrecks - Hikkaduwa has excellent snorkeling just offshore. Only 200m offshore, in shallow water no more than 4m deep, a reef protects an expanse of brilliant coral populated by vividly colorful reef fish. It is a perfect snorkeling territory. Compared with glass bottomed boats that operate from the beach, snorkeling herein is an eco-friendly means of enjoyment. Night Life in Hikkaduwa Hikkaduwa is different from other resorts of Sri Lanka that here besides a beach rest also there is a night life. There are disco parties in weekend at various clubs and bars on the beach. Also, regardless of what day of the week, you can enjoy cocktails and enjoy your time in a good company of vacationers: Top Secret, Harbor. Overnight in Hikkaduwa.
