Cordoba

Córdoba is a city of layers, where Roman, Moorish and Christian history shape one unforgettable destination in the heart of Andalusia. Wander the UNESCO‑listed Mezquita‑Cathedral, stroll across the ancient Roman Bridge and lose yourself in flower‑filled patios and winding old town streets. Rich culture, vibrant tapas bars and timeless architecture make Córdoba a highlight of any Spanish journey.

Cadiz

Cadiz stands on a peninsula jutting out into a bay and is almost entirely surrounded by water. The Phoencians founded Cadiz as a trading post in 1100 BC and it became a thriving Roman port. It sank into oblivion under the Moors but attained great prominence in the early 16th century as a launching point for the journey to the new world in America. Cadiz was also raided by Sir Francis Drake and managed to withstand a siege by Napoleon's army. Cadiz is situated just 99km away from Seville which is the epicentre of Moorish architecture and history. With UNESCO classing a complex of three buildings in Seville as a World Heritage Site - namely the Cathedral, Alcazar Palace, and Archive of the Indies - it's no wonder that cruisers flock to Seville from Cadiz.

Morning, included coach excursion: the Alcázar and the Cathedral of Jerez. Nestled in the heart of Andalusia, Jerez is renowned for its sherry wine, Andalusian horses, and flamenco. A city tour will allow you to discover its main monuments. Then, you will visit the Alcázar, a former fortified palace dating back to the 9th century, a testament to the city's Muslim heritage.

Afternoon, included visit: Cádiz. Depart on foot toward the historic centre of Cádiz. Situated at the tip of a narrow strip of land, Cádiz stretches across a coastline of lagoons, beaches, and salt marshes. Enjoy a Flamenco show on board. Flamenco (cante flamenco) is an art created by the Gypsy and Andalusian people, rooted in folk traditions from the various cultures that flourished in Spain over the centuries. Immerse yourself in the heart of one of Spain’s greatest traditions. During the night, sailing toward El Puerto de Santa María.

We'll tour the Osborne cellar and taste local wines in the company of our hostess. Afterwards, we'll cruise towards Isla Minima (3). We'll tour a genuine Andalusian hacienda located on the banks of the Guadalquivir River, followed by an Andalusian dance show. We'll return on board and start sailing towards Seville.

Isla Minima

Isla Mínima is a peaceful riverside hamlet set amid the wetlands of the Guadalquivir, offering a glimpse of authentic rural Andalusia. Surrounded by rice fields and rich birdlife, it feels a world away from the busy cities. Life here moves at a gentle pace, shaped by river traditions, nature and wide open landscapes, making Isla Mínima a uniquely tranquil stop in southern Spain.

Morning, included excursion: Seville Cathedral and the Palace of the Countess of Lebrija. Guided tour of the cathedral, which remains one of the largest Gothic cathedrals in the world. Then, we visit the Palace of the Countess of Lebrija. A magnificent example of historical Andalusian architecture, built in the early 20th century, it is renowned for its sumptuous interior. It is also known for its impressive patio, adorned with mosaics, colorful ceramics, and lush gardens, creating a serene and elegant atmosphere.

Afternoon free in Seville. Or Optional excursion: A day in Granada (only available with pre-booking before departure, travel time: 3 hours each way).

Granada

Granada nestles in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains in Andalucía, with Moorish medieval architecture and the Alhambra, a grand, sprawling hilltop fortress complex encompassing royal palaces, serene patios and reflecting pools. Or simply visit Motril - the largest town on the Costa Tropical halfway between Malaga and Almeria, with its beaches, shopping, 15th century church, 16th century sugar mill and 17th century town hall.

This morning's included excursion: The Wharf of the Caravels. Leave for a guided visit of the Gothic-Mudéjar style Franciscan monastery built between the 14th and 15th centuries. Christopher Columbus stayed here while preparing his departure for the New World. A fresco by Daniel Vázquez Díaz, created in 1930, illustrates the sailor’s saga and reminds us of his historic role. Throughout the centuries, the monastery has grown and expanded. We will then head to the Wharf of the Caravels, where the great explorer set out on August 3, 1492. Life-size replicas of the famous Pinta, Nina, and Santa Maria ships await you. We will return to Seville. Free afternoon in Seville. Take advantage of this time to discover the city at your own pace. We suggest a stroll through Maria Luisa Park or the historic centre to take in the full ambiance of the city. Tonight is our festive gala evening.
