Tallinn is a fairytale city with preserved medieval walls, cobbled squares and towering spires. Visit the workshops in Catherine’s Passage to watch artisans creating leatherwork, jewellery and ceramics. A highlight of visiting Tallinn is the magnificent St Mary’s Cathedral, with its display of more than 100 coats of arms. The Kadriorg Palace is surrounded by many interesting side buildings and a beautiful park including the symmetrical Swan Lake.

After breakfast, enjoy a 2-hour guided tour of Tallinn. Visit the UNESCO-listed Old Town, including Town Hall Square, St. Olaf’s Church, and the city walls. Learn about the city’s rich history and its mix of medieval charm and modern culture. The afternoon is at leisure for further exploration or relaxing at your hotel.

Check out from your hotel and board the ferry to Helsinki. Upon arrival, enjoy a panoramic city tour (1 hour 45 minutes), taking in top sights such as the Helsinki Cathedral, Market Square, and the Esplanade. Check into your hotel and spend the evening exploring Helsinki at your leisure.

Helsinki

Helsinki is the capital and largest city in Finland. It is surrounded by the sea and its own archipelago and has a nautical feel with many sailing events during the summer. The striking onion-shaped cupolas of the Uspensky Cathedral (modelled on the one in Odessa) are just one example of the Soviet influence on a country which achieved independence less than 100 years ago. Senate Square , The Helsinki Cathedral, the Government Palace, the University of Helsinki’s main building and the National Library of Finland, all designed by Carl Ludvig Engel, dominate the Senate Square. Travel around on the Vintage Tram or cruise through the beautiful island-studded sea surrounding Helsinki enjoying views of cottages, villas and waterfront saunas.
